Perfume is something we all cherish and love to possess. However preparing a bottle of perfume is not a child`s play. It is a complicated and highly specialized job.
The word perfume comes from the Latin word `per fumum` which means `through smoke`. The art of making perfumes, known as perfumery, is quite an ancient art, dating back to more than four thousand years. Interestingly, the most ancient ones were not made using flowers. Instead they were based on the extracts of spices and herbs. Some of the most popular ones were almond, myrtle, bergamot, coriander etc.
