Some of the foods, drinks, and other items consumed by people can cause this condition to be triggered. Some people eat too many foods containing a heavy amount of fat content. They eat too many chocolates, and consume too many alcoholic beverages, and too many cigarettes. Other factors which can cause the reflux problem to trigger is being obese, and for some, being pregnant. Both obesity and pregnancy cause the stomach contents to push back into the esophagus causing additional pressure in the abdomen.
